Recently purchased a 2018 340i and want to do some basic bolt-ons like exhaust, downpipe and tune. But I still have a CPO warranty until October of 2023 and I don't want to void that if I ever need it. What are my options for tuning the car and installing a high-flow catted downpipe while not getting in trouble at the dealership lol. Stage 2 B58 tunes provide a respectable bump above stage 1 performance. It is highly recommended to install a catless downpipe or high flow catted downpipe prior to stage 2 MHD tunes.You don't need a tune for the downpipe and you don't need a downpipe if you're tuned. That being said, without a tune you'll get CEL and not a huge power gain with the dp. And if you get the tune, you'll get more power but be limited with the stock dp.
